Ok.. ive seen many PA out there and id love to get one myself. My biggest question is that, I know that over time its going to slowly stretch the hole out and ive got to continue guaging it no matter what, is there any way to keep it from stretching and keep at the standard (if my memory serves 14g piercing) size.. Id prefer to keep it as clean looking as possible. Any ideas on this?

Any help is appreciated. I got my tongue pierced on Tuesday, so 5 days ago. The swelling has gone down and it doesn't hurt at all. I am a little worried though because yesterday it started having like Whitish creamish colored discharge coming from the top hole. Is this normal? It has funny taste to it, almost salty. No bleeding or pain, but I am worried that it might be infected.

Ok so I've seen a lot of info on the internet and heard a lot of stuff from trusted (and not trusted) friends and family members. They are all aware that I plan to get my hips pierced and are putting their two cents in. Is dermal really better than surface?
Ok so obviously in order to answer the question there has to be some criteria:
Healing Time
Rejection Rate
Pain Level

Which heals faster? Which one is more likely to reject and how much do either of them hurt (1-10)
I had come to the conclusion using the internet and friends that dermal anchors would be the better option for hip piercings but I am so confused and there is a lot of conflicting info out here. I am getting my hips done in September. I would like to have a definitive opinion on whether or not I should get dermal anchors or surface piercings. Facts, statistics, and actual experiences are really helpful. I want to get my hips done and have the piercing for a long time with a pleasant experience and memories attached to it. So piercingforum.net, which one really is better when it comes to hips, dermal or surface?

i'm thinking of getting cheek piercings only becouse i want dimples. do i have to leave the piercings in my cheeks for a long time? do they have to heal properly to get nice scars? or can I just aks the piercer to stick a needle through my cheeks, without putting in the piercings?  Tongue

Went ahead and pierced them last week, took a bit longer than it usualy would, getting the closure ball into the ring took up a fair bit of time in itself, mind you i did ask myself what the hell i had gotten myself into - at one point i had two hands on the needle clamp trying to release it while the needle was through the lobe and the other clamp was locked tightly around it, otherwise all lookin good seems to be healing well, no swelling or infection to be seen as yet.

Photo requirments may, and probably do vary. Generally they should be a current, accurate representation of yourself and anything that could prevent a customs officer from identifying you should be removed before the photo is taken. The piercing should be ok since it wouldn't obscure any features of your face, however smiling in a passport photo is a no no these days.
Below is a list of photo criteria, that should be up to EU standard (since it was ammended a couple of years back)

Standards for acceptable photographs:

Photographs should be not more than 6 months old.
They may be in colour or black and white [b/w preferred].
Minimum photos size 35mm x 45mm, maximum size 38mm x 50mm
The photograph should show a full front view of the subject’s head, as he or she would normally appear.
The image must be sharp and clear, and taken against a plain white or light grey  background
Sunglasses are not acceptable. Tinted glasses may be worn provided they do not obscure the person's eyes.
Photographs should not show military or police uniforms.
Only head coverings worn for religious reasons are permitted. Hair bands are not allowed.
It is essential that the photographs submitted with the application meet the Passport Office photo guidelines. These guidelines are based on internationally accepted standards. See Advice for applicants and Technical Advice for Photographers links below for details.

Unacceptable photographs include where the face is not clear, the top of the head is not showing, where parents hold infants in their arms, person has dark glasses, home produced photographs which are not identical or where the paper quality is not suitable for scanning by the Passport Office, and photos taken against a dark background.

Poor quality photographs account for the highest proportion of applicants which must be rejected by the Passport Office. The Passport Office would encourage applicants to study the photograph guidelines insert which accompanies the application form and also the information contained on this website before making their application.

This question is in regard to a male piercing that borneo headhunters have been known to adorn themselves with, i believe its called a Pelang, though its been a while since i read about it - a few years at least. It's a dummy-Glans made from wood with a left to right retaining bar that is inserted through a diametric pierced hole just below the Sulcus.
I haven't seen or heard of it since and wondered if anyone else has heard of this piercing being done in the western world, or to be PC - the modern world.

How's it goin' in all an' anyways,
Got a 2mm ear lobe piercing kit - forceps, needles H2Ocean spray etc - the hole jaysusin shabang by the look of it. Have it a couple of weeks now but hope to take a stab at it in the next few days. Any advice on the process would be helpful, i figure the needle must pass through the lobe in a centred and sterile manner, i suppose my real question is to do with the needle size, if anyone has experience using 2mm needles and the pros and cons of using them vs smaller ones.
Any info would be much appreciated
